SOLVEE — Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 7, 2026

Introduction

Solvee ("Solvee", "we", "us") is a homework-help app for iPhone and iPad, published by Gaurav Saini, an independent developer based in India. It lets you photograph, type or dictate a question and receive a step-by-step, AI-generated explanation. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have.

Solvee does not require an account. You can use the app without giving us your name, email address or any login.

Information We Collect

Content you give the app

  • Photos of questions you take or choose from your library
  • Questions you type or dictate (dictation is converted to text on your device by Apple's speech service)
  • Your answers to the short set-up quiz (school level, subjects, goal)
  • Follow-up messages you send to the tutor chat

Generated and stored on your device

  • The AI-generated solution for each question
  • Your solution history, streak and reminder settings
  • Whether you have completed onboarding and how many free solves you have used today

Technical and usage information

  • Device model, operating system version, app version, language and country
  • An anonymous app-instance identifier created by our analytics and purchase providers
  • Events such as "solve completed", "paywall viewed" or "trial started" (never the content of your questions)
  • Crash reports and performance data
  • The Apple advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking when iOS asks

How We Use Information

Solving your question

When you submit a question, the photo or text is sent over an encrypted connection to our server and forwarded to our AI provider, Anthropic, which generates the explanation. The photo is reduced in size on your device before upload. We do not use your questions to build profiles about you.

Personalising the app

Your quiz answers stay on your device and are used to phrase explanations for your level and to show relevant examples.

Understanding and improving the app

Anonymous usage events and crash reports tell us which features work and where the app fails, so we can fix problems and improve it.

Reminders

If you opt in, the app schedules local notifications (a daily study reminder, a streak reminder, and a reminder before a free trial ends). These are created on your device and can be turned off in iOS Settings at any time.

Service Providers We Share Data With

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the providers below, each of which processes it on our behalf under its own privacy terms.

  • Anthropic (AI processing) — receives the question photo or text and the chat messages needed to produce an answer. Anthropic privacy policy
  • Cloudflare (hosting) — runs the server that relays requests between the app and the AI provider.
  • Apple (App Store, in-app purchases, speech recognition) — processes payments and dictation; we never see your card details. Apple privacy policy
  • RevenueCat (subscription management) — receives your purchase receipts and an anonymous app user ID to unlock Premium and restore purchases. RevenueCat privacy policy
  • Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics) — receives anonymous usage events and crash reports. Google privacy policy
  • Google AdMob (advertising) — shows an optional rewarded video ad when a free user chooses to watch one for an extra solve. AdMob may use device identifiers to serve and measure ads. How Google uses ad data
  • Meta (Facebook SDK) and Singular (attribution) — receive install and purchase events so we can measure our advertising. The Facebook SDK only receives the advertising identifier if you allow tracking. Meta privacy policy · Singular privacy policy

Advertising and Tracking

Premium subscribers see no ads. Free users may choose to watch a rewarded ad in exchange for one extra solve; ads are never shown without your tap. On first launch iOS asks whether Solvee may track you across other apps and websites. If you decline, the app still works fully, and the advertising identifier is not shared with Meta. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and reset or limit your advertising identifier under Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.

Subscriptions and Payments

Premium is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple's App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. Apple handles all payment data; we receive only a receipt confirming the purchase. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings. Restoring purchases sends your receipt to RevenueCat so Premium can be unlocked on a new device.

Where Your Data Lives and For How Long

  • Solution history, photos, quiz answers, settings — stored only on your device. Deleting a solution in the app, or deleting the app, removes them. There is no cloud copy.
  • Questions sent for solving — held by our server only for the seconds needed to obtain an answer; request logs without content are kept for up to 30 days for troubleshooting.
  • Analytics and crash data — retained by Google Firebase for up to 14 months, in aggregated or anonymous form.
  • Purchase records — retained by Apple and RevenueCat for as long as needed to honour your subscription and for accounting.

Your Choices and Rights

  • Delete your data — delete individual solutions in the app, or delete the app to remove everything stored on the device. To have any server-side record removed, email us and we will act within 30 days.
  • Camera, photos, microphone, notifications, tracking — each permission is optional and can be changed in iOS Settings.
  • Access, correction, portability, objection — if you are in a region that grants these rights (for example the EU, UK, California or India), email us and we will help.

Children

Solvee is intended for students aged 13 and over. It is rated 12+ on the App Store because AI-generated content can be unpredictable. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app and sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

All traffic between the app, our server and our providers is encrypted with TLS. Our server does not store your questions or photos after answering. Access to provider dashboards is protected by two-factor authentication. No method of transmission is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Transfers

Our providers operate servers in the United States and other countries. By using Solvee you understand that your question content and technical data may be processed outside your country, under the safeguards in each provider's terms.

Changes to This Policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the date above. Material changes will also be shown in the app.
